The Novels
Estimated Publication Dates
In S1 E3: “Birds of a Feather” we learn that Jessica has six published novels and a movie deal. I’ve placed the events of “Birds” in late September 1984, and she promoted her first novel in April of that year, which means she was extraordinarily prolific during the intervening months. We all know Jessica Fletcher is a woman of immense talent, but even so, my theory is that many of the early novels were already drafted before she was discovered.
Here is the list of novels we’ve encountered so far, in order of estimated date of publication. We know the names of three of the six novels published by “Birds of a Feather.”
